In the southwest of Portugal, halfway between Porto Covo and Vila Nova de Milfontes, Três Marias is a country house integrated in an Alentejo hill, where the plain merges with the hills of Serra do Cercal, in an amplitude reminiscent of African landscapes – even those who have never been to Africa. Spread over two complementary buildings, separated by fields where some donkeys, sheep and a friendly ostrich graze, fifteen rooms in neutral tones, with private porches, invite you to moments of pure rest. While the colorful breakfasts leave no one indifferent, the dinners have already become famous, not only for the honest and comforting cuisine, but also for the conviviality around the table and the friendly honesty bar.
Being four kilometers from the sea, on a dirt road, from Três Marias you can easily reach splendid beaches, bathed by the impressive Atlantic Ocean, as you can be enchanted by the cork oak forest you find before starting to climb the hills, in a ideal location for walking or cycling.
The Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina is a coastal strip with more than one hundred kilometers, stretching from Alentejo to Algarve, inserted between the Atlantic coast, with its incredible beaches and steep cliffs, and a beautiful, simple and authentic interior. It is one of the most unspoilt coastlines in Europe, with breathtaking landscapes, an ecosystem of great diversity and a genuine culture.
