Head north toward the coast and enjoy the wonderful beaches, country walks, lunch at one of the many excellent coastal village pubs. We are ideally located to link in with the walking and cycle routes of Marriott’s Way and Weaver’s Way that will take you safely into the wonderful countryside and on to the coast. You can pick up the Marriott’s Way directly from Norwich train station and make your way to Aylsham.
There are plenty of opportunities for sightseeing, from beautiful nature reserves and bird watching to a number of National Trust properties including Blickling Hall on Aylsham’s doorstep and Felbrigg Hall 15 minutes away.
The popular market town of Holt and coastal destinations of Cley, Blakeney and Stiffkey, are within 25-30 minutes drive, lined with independent shops, charming pubs and cafés. A little further afield there are the fabulous beaches at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham. Holkham Hall is also well worth a visit, it is the private home of the Coke family and not a National Trust property, so do check opening times before visiting. The house is an outstanding architectural gem set in beautiful parkland and hosts special events and open days during the summer months.
