  1. I spent a week at Milestones and would happily have spent another. The room has a separate entrance and includes a fantastically comfortable king-sized bed, a fridge, a tea and coffee maker, and a convenient storage closet.

Of course, the most remarkable feature is that the whole accommodation is floating on the water, though the movements are very gentle and usually undetectable. Most of your neighbors will be geese who may greet you (sometimes bringing the entire family) when you step out in the morning and your room key has a flotation device attached in case of butter-fingers.

If you are in the area to visit family, or to visit Hampton Court Palace, or to re-enact passages from Three Men in a Boat, stay at Milestones and make the Thames your home while you are there.
