Curved Stone House Holiday Home, Ullapool, Highland, Scotland

UNIQUE HOLIDAY HOMES IN THE WEST HIGHLANDS OF SCOTLAND
Nestled into a hillside above the beautiful North Highland village of Ullapool, sit two stunning five star holiday retreats. Built, or should we say sculpted, from stone, turf and glass, these retreats have been created to provide a truly unique and luxurious holiday experience.

Developed for those seeking out of the ordinary holiday accommodation, in the centre of one of the most spectacular scenic areas of Scotland, and within the cultural centre of the Northern Highlands

LUXURY HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION OVERLOOKING ULLAPOOL
The Stonehouses, are two luxuriously equipped retreats, with panoramic views across Loch Broom and out to the Summer Isles. They are spacious, yet cosy, with full under floor heating and wood burning stoves in the open plan living areas. Both houses have spacious saunas, and luxury freestanding baths.

Built by ourselves, Gavin and Rachel Anderson, and a team of local crafts people and artisans, the houses were designed by a local Hebridean architect (Stuart Bagshaw) with the aim of bringing together traditional building techniques with modern design and environmental considerations.

Our aim is to provide a unique and luxurious base from where you can explore our wonderful village, stunning local environment and Highland life and culture.

LUXURY WITH AN ENVIRONMENTAL CONSCIENCE
The Stonehouses are cocooned with recycled insulation (wood fibre in the walls and ceilings and, believe it or not, recycled car windscreen insulation in the floor).

They are fully underfloor heated by air-source heat pumps with solar water heating and an LPG backup to ensure that you are never low on piping hot water.

The wood burning stove provides a warming focal point in the living space. Whilst the natural building materials (local wood and stone) and the green turf roof allow the buildings to merge with their surroundings.
