Perched 700m up in the wooded Appenines where truffle grow and wild boar roam, tucked away in the far eastern corner of Tuscany halfway between Arezzo and Rimini on the Adriatic, Ca’ Valenzano is a small holding offering two apartments for B&B or self-catering.
Everyone is welcome, from single travellers to couples and families and pets – we’ll happily rope your children in to help feed the animals in the morning and can provide high chair and travel cot as you need.
The tiny hamlet of Valenzano is just 3km up a steep windy road away from ancient market town of Sestino at the head of the Foglia valley and is ideally located to explore the surrounding regional parks, go cycling, walking or looking for mushrooms in the mountains or visit the abundant Renaissance art in Urbino and Arezzo. Or, if you’d rather, just simply relax in a hammock and while away the time with a good book and glass of wine.
We, along with our menagerie of dogs, cats, chickens and ducks, look forward to welcoming you to Ca’ Valenzano.
Once the original main house at Ca’ Valenzano, this then became the room where the salamis and prosciuttos were prepared.
This is now the larger of our two apartments, comprising huge double bedroom upstairs, spacious modern bathroom and sitting room (with double sofa bed for extra guests) by the wood-burning stove. There is also a fully fitted kitchen which makes this ideal for longer, self-catering stays.
The room also features exposed beams, original brick flooring and views of the garden and surrounding countryside.
