The Scottish Borders is in southern Scotland and offers beautiful countryside, tranquility, a variety of activities and a warm Scottish welcome.  Many people pass through the Borders to go further north and do not realise that the area is a hidden gem.  In addition to excellent walking on your doorstep you can golf, fish, cycle, mountain bike, horse ride, birdwatch, see wildlife…or just get away from it all and relax!  There are many historic castles, abbeys, stately homes, gardens and museums within easy reach.  Edinburgh, with its magnificent castle, Holyrood Palace, visitor attractions, shops, famous summer festival and LGBT scene is just a day trip away.

The cottage is in the very pretty and quiet village of Ettrickbridge, set amidst the rolling hills of the Scottish Borders and the beautiful Yarrow and Ettrick Valleys.  The village has a small play park and tennis court and the village pub is 200m away, offering good home cooked meals.  The nearby town of Selkirk has a range of local amenities including shops, cafes, take-aways and restaurants.

The cottage is lesbian owned and run, pet-friendly and working towards eco-friendly living with a number of measures to help protect the environment. It is non-smoking throughout.   We think it offers all you need for a perfect self-catering holiday in the south of Scotland.
